Are these screens like “Jumbotrons”?

For starters, “Jumbotron” is a trademark brand name owned by Sony corporation, so while many people call our screens “jumbotrons”, legally and technically they can’t be called that because we don’t have Sony screens. That being said, our screens utilize very similar technology to the “jumbotron”. But ours are better… much better! 🙂

How much time does it take to set it up mobile LED screen?

Our mobile trailer screens can be effectively set up within 15min of on site arrival time thanks to our Roll Up and Raise design. It can be as simple as ark it, level it, place outriggers, apply power, and push a button. Of course, we may have to make adjustments for placement (staging, studio, lighting, barricades) as well as power, feeding the screens, and content to be displayed. 

Our modular screens are a little bit more involved, depending if they are truss-hung or raised with our 20’ Eventer lifts. The modular screens range from 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the size of the screen.

How much space does it take?
Our trailer screens are mobile LED trailer screens either 24’ or 27’ long including the tip of the tail. The trailer itself is 8.5’, stabilizer outriggers 4’ to each side. So, safely plan on a 17’ footprint.

Assuming we are using our Eventer lifts to ground lift the screen, the footprint from front to rear would be roughly 8’ deep with whatever the length of the screen you select- anywhere from 12’ to 20’.

Why should I choose an LED screen over the projection screen?
By its very nature, LED displays are much brighter when compared to projection. With projectors, light is produced in the box and thrown across space where it lands on the screen.

With LED displays, light is produced in the display itself and self-illumination provides better visual presentation and general image quality. Projectors typically required darkened environments because they are competing with ambient light which tends to wash out as the projector light is beamed through empty space.

That is why most conferences using projectors require dimly lit rooms in order to see the material. In contrast, projectors absolutely do not work outdoors during daylight.

Which one should I choose the mobile or modular LED screen?
Our mobile trailer JumboVision screens are the brightest in the world at 8000 nits (compared to your home television at 200-500 nits). They are designed to be weatherproof and are a much more solid ground footprint for an outdoor setting.
Their resolution is ideal for very large crowds. A key benefit is the simplicity of roll-up and raise for a quick set up and strike at your event.

Our modular screens offer greater flexibility. You can custom order the size you want, from 11.5 ft. by 6.5 ft. to 21 ft. by 11.5 ft. They can be built-in, or hung from roof or truss-hung supports. They are a higher resolution than our mobile trailer screens and are ideal for smaller spaces and crowds. 

How do I know what brightness is good for me?
Do you know how difficult it is to view your phone in direct sunlight? Display brightness is measured in “nits,” where a higher number means a brighter display and ability to view in daylight. Most computer and TV LED screens range between 200-500 nits.

Compare that to modular LED screens which range between 1500 to 5000 nits depending upon the rating and whether it is designed for indoor or outdoor use.

Our JumboVision Mobile LED screens are the brightest in the world at 8000 nits. They are highly visible in daylight and look spectacular in low light conditions!

How do I know which resolution is right for me?
Here’s the technological explanation first: LED displays is the pixel pitch measured by the space in millimeters between the individual diodes. Each individual diode is a single pixel.

The farther you move away from an LED screen, the gap between the individual diode optically decreases. Your eyes see a more solid image from farther away.

The pixel pitch for the LED spread determines the minimum viewing distance in meters–how far you have to be for optimum resolution. As a rule of thumb, you can convert the pixel pitch to the same number of meters to get the minimum viewing distance. 

For example, our Jumbovision display with a 4 mm pixel pitch would have a minimum viewing distance of 4 meters, which is roughly 13 feet. Likewise, our 10 mm Jumbovision LED screen would have a minimum viewing distance of 10 meters, which is roughly 32 feet.

Our Jumbovision screen (10 mm pixel pitch) would look very similar in image quality to our screen with a 4 mm pixel pitch when you are standing 100 feet away.
